Off the back of the boat- July 29

This is where Grant and I live on the weekends--the back of our boat.
We read, eat, sleep and chat there. We zip up the back when there are thunderstorms, still, our windows allow us to watch every raindrop pelt down. We see fish jumping and try to summon the energy to get out the fishing rod (we never succeed); we call out to each other to look! as the loons float by, their ululating cries echoing across the water; we watch the water change from blue to green, then to gold and pink as the sun sets. We sip our wine and time stands (nearly) still.
This weekend, we were at the end of a dock off of Beausoleil Island. Most of the time there was another boat behind us (although we could still see most of the scenery on our right side), but for a breath of a moment we had an open view.

Take me with you!
What a fabulous way to enjoy a weekend!
Are you kidding? The view off the boat is much more inspiring than any old twinnie.
I want to come sit on the back of your boat. We keep talking about it, but we never do it. [crying]
Any of you are welcome any time to come and play on my boat. Seriously. Come on over!
